Hysterectomy
A hysterectomy
is a surgical procedure to remove your uterus (partial) or both your uterus and your cervix (total). A hysterectomy might be needed for treatment of large or symptomatic uterine fibroids, endometriosis, uterine prolapse, gynecologic cancer, persistent abnormal or heavy vaginal bleeding, chronic pelvic pain or other conditions. This procedure is permanent and non-reversible.
